Welcome to the New Breed CDC Volunteer Resource page. This is your starting place for learning more about what we do, and finding great volunteer opportunities that you're looking to get involved in. Volunteering can give you the opportunity to try something new, gain experience, develop skills, improve your career prospects,  and meet new people.

We are always looking for people to become New Breed volunteers. Although no skills are required, we often-times look for skilled/professional members because they are trained in operational environments such as maintaining the facility, assisting with fundraising and supporting the overall operations of the organization.

90% of all services offered to the community are done by volunteers; they allow the organization to accomplish it's mission and achieve it's goals. That's why volunteers are truly the backbone of New Breed CDC's organizaton.

Getting Started

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to service the community in the city of Eastpointe through programs and events. To get started, take a look at our volunteer Calendar of Events and then pre-register for an event that suits your interest and schedule. Once registered, we will automatically email to you the details and directions. If you’re not already pre-registered to be a volunteer, you can sign up by visiting the main office at New Breed Community Center 15115 Deerfield ave. Eastpointe Mi 48021. You will than be prompted to attend a volunteer orientation at a later date set by New Breed Staff. Once you have gone through orientation, you can sign up for an event.

Keep in mind registration is required for all programs and events. We have to limit volunteer participation, however, to ensure that we have enough tools, equipment and work for all volunteers. Please pre-register so that we  know how many people to expect and can plan accordingly. If you plan on bringing friends and family, please check that everyone has pre-registered for the event. If that particular program or event is full, please choose another event listed on the Calendar of Events.

Group Volunteering

Groups of all types are welcome to join our volunteer events. This is a great opportunity for team building to boost morale, while doing something beneficial for the community. Your group can be involved with a number of things such as neighborhood clean up, assisting with day camp, distrubting food at our food drive or even planting trees.

For groups of 10 or more, please fill out our inquiry form on this page so we can find an event that can accommodate your group. Groups of less than 10 can individually register for events through our Calendar of Events.  If you are a business interested in a private volunteer event, please email Dr. Ken Howard, President at This email address is being protected from spambots.
